A surprise for President Juanita Miner
During the June Board meeting, Serena Crisp and Jeanette Gregory (2019 Fall Co-Chairs), surprised Juanita Miner with the quilt constructed by the attendees of the Fall 2019 -30th Fall Retreat.
Each member at the retreat was given a sewing packet and four squares to hand sew together before the end of the retreat. Each member was placed into nine teams to meet and encourage each other the project completion. Everyone turned them in on time and new member Lyla Wenneker assembled them into a beautiful lap quilt. New member Sandra Kronmueller, custom quilted the quilt.
Once Serena and Jeanette explained to Juanita, they wanted to do this hand sewing mixer activity, similar to the one done at the First retreat, she began cutting the squares and making the sewing kits. She had no clue she would be the owner. She was delighted to receive her surprise keepsake.
Serena and Jeanette were delighted to hear from the many attendees they enjoyed and found hand piecing could be challenging. We raise a thimble to all the support from MSQG.
